Each project includes detailed drawings, color selection guides, precise instructions for rendering perspective, and full-scale patterns (the Summer Window and Curious Moose packets also have color slides). NOTE: This CD does not have video clips. For detailed pictures, click on the thumbnail to the left Italian Columns This packet was designed so that your existing architectural elements and furniture could be used to create a romantic setting. You could, for example, choose to paint only one column on a plain white wall and add ivy or climbing roses. However, if you color wash the walls, and paint the arch and both columns you can create a magical focal point for your favorite objects. The thought of creating a large trompe l'oeil mural might be intimidating. But, why? Painted illusions are only layers upon layers of paint. If you take one layer at a time, you will be amazed at how easy it is to paint a room-sized mural! Summer Window This packet was designed so that you can either project a 35 mm slide to trace any of the mural elements or you can trace the full sized patterns included. If you project the slide, your project will quickly evolve, if you chose to follow the detailed instructions and trace the included patterns then it will be more challenging. Whichever route you take, we are sure that you will have fun painting the Summer Window! Playful Birds The "Playful Birds" mural was created for one of the walls in a little girl's Secret Garden room. The colors of the faux stone wall actually glow in the morning sun. The arches are whimsical and romantic, yet they give the strength and security that a small child needs. The sky was washed with a complementary blue color that provides an openness, the birds add life and movement. Curious Moose This inquisitive moose makes a huge statement in a little space. Originally designed for a small powder room, the mural has been one of our most popular designs. Perhaps, it is because of the spontaneous laughter that erupts when guests open the door. The moose wants to peek into your life, and asks only for a closer look from you. A mural like the "Curious Moose" makes the largest impact in a small room, or at the end of a hallway. However, beware of the dreariness that can be created when painting dark finishes on all the walls of a large room. Also, consider that it would be quite fun to paint this mural in a room frequented by visitors. |
